Believed to have been built in the 1700’s it is one of the oldest buildings in the village of Glasnevin. The Restaurant was opened in July 1996 and gets its name from the old washhouse, which was situated along the hill.

2010 has brought changes to The Washerwomans Hill Restaurant, we are still committed to providing quality and value, but in pursuing this objective we asked ourselves and our customers what they want and need, It became apparent that in the present climate people want to know what their family occasions total cost would be.

So we have provided packages for family occasions which include 3 courses, red and white wine, soft drinks and tea or coffee for €500, this package has proved very popular with christenings, communions, confirmations and other afternoon events. We have based this on up to 20 adults and 10 kids in our private function room.

As we no longer open for lunch we have made the restaurant exclusively available at short notice for private functions and funerals.We are located very close to Glasnevin Cemetery/crematorium, and could meet at short notice to show you around our restaurant and discuss menus and drinks; we endeavour to provide as much assistance as possible to the family during their bereavement.
